Pacman is nearly ready to go, just having an issue with my screen manager, for some reason the help screen is being displayed behind the game despite being called afterwards.

Aside from that though the game is complete.

I'm also doing the groundwork on the next project and it's coming together nicely. Still early days yet, but so far so good.

Is that real?  Very cool.

I don't know whet we are looking at in that waveform, but wouldn't the message effect the sound in some way?
It's a spectrograph - showing energy in the different frequency bands. The 0-24k scale on the left is in Hz.

I'm not exactly sure how these images "sound" so to speak but I imagine if you put in just a bit of noise at the respective frequencies it wouldn't be too obvious to the ear.

Soon! Very soon, just need to sort the help text out and add those sound fx Smiley

Thanks, it's not too ambitious but should have a pretty striking look, simple concept and be quite addictive, I'll deliberately keep the style of game secret until it's ready to playtest  Huh

I spent a lot of time playing GTA V Online. Probably 150-200 hours, 99% of it with friends. It was good fun, and I'd take breaks for a few months and come back for the fresh content when it dropped. That said, it was getting old, and because it's so hard to earn money in the game, the playerbase and R* really discourage PVP in the open world, which is a shame.

I ended up trying PUBG at a friend's house, and was instantly hooked. It was like DayZ but without the drudgery. Air drop on to the island, loot for gear, and stay ahead of the ever shrinking circle that'll kill you as it closes in. Try and be the last one standing out of 100 players.

It's fast paced, with tons of cool gear and mechanics that just work. Great fun to play with friends, too.

The only thing that bothers me is their experimentation with first-person only matches (the game is third-person as standard). I like it in third person, and I can put up with it in first. I just wish they'd pick one so I can git gud.

I've had a bit of a scattergun week with regards to development, with focus split between the dodo engine and thoughts on the next project.

Without thinking about the finer details of the next project, I've just been roughing out in my head what features I need in the engine to make it possible.

Engine wise I've added some generic effects to all the various fx systems (camera, screen, sound, 3D Particles, emitters) so they are available in every project.

So without me adding any code....

PlayFx( "Big Explosion");

shakes and twists the screen, adds a white flash, temporarily blurs the screen, emits some 3D particles and plays an appropriate sound effect.  man

I can easily tweak those fx later or add new ones, but it means I can prototype ideas really quickly.

Been a struggle as due to entertaining circumstances I am couch surfing until I can find a stable lease. It's funny to think that I've moved something like 8 times in 5 years.  Grin
I haven't lived in that many places in my life  Grin

So when do I get to play a little of Pacman then? Smiley

I do have plans of my next project and it's going to be a custom thing and completely monochrome! Cheesy
This is what I'm really looking forward to.   man
