Different enemies ? so our trusty circle will be demoted to background enemies where more pressing enemies force the user to remove the threat.
Not really.  There will only be one type of enemy per level as mixing them up Echoes or GW style would mean you couldn't really employ any tactics other than survival.  With a single enemy type you can exploit it's behavior to help in colouring the background....possibly.

I'd advise though, in a game like Mono where the late game becomes so important not to add an enemy which seeks the player, that just annoys me to no end.
Well the enemies in the current version of mono home in on the player so I say you're wrong in this case Wink

In fact if you know how the background colours effect the gamplay then you'll also know that "homing" is an integral part of the gameplay.

Ah touchez, i'd forgotten about that. Oh I much prefer the one enemy type per level system, should allow us to focus on colouring the screen.

There's a guy at the University I'm at who looks at the way the brain behaves when your in the zone, primarily looking at when people are playing music but the same experiences are also analogised with those in sport and game play.  Apparently the way the two halves of the brain communicate changes when people are experiencing the 'flow' as he calls it.
It would be really cool to see MRI (or whatever is the tech that shows active brain regions) footage of someone playing mono, starting out strategetic then going into twitch mode.
Linking the background to brain activity would be cool.  The more calm you stay, the more sedate the background, but as you get more stressed it twists and distorts more.
It's a pity you're not at some university or something, they're always doing stuff like that.

I just realised Mono has a joypad option now (downloading it at uni).

The full version should have a 1024x600 EEE mode Tongue I've played Echoes before and it just you know, scrolls the screen and it's like playing a smaller field. It's OK but not great.
