I love that episode of Community in season 2 where
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Classic stuff.
One of the best.  Glee Club replacements, the Deans outfit changes,  Chang in the air vents.  Ace.

Not a big fan of Ken Jeong myself... well... it depends on the episode. Back in the Spanish days I found him a lot funnier. For me it was always Abed back in season 1.
In many ways I guess that's the strength of the series.  There are so many great characters that everyone will have their own favourites.

Finished the first series of 24 and for the most part it was enjoyable.  Certainly too long though which does it no favours.  12 would have been 10 times better than 24.  BunnyMonkey!

Regardless I'll certainly be giving series 2 a go after I've investigated a few of the other suggestions on here.

The latest Community was great and very clever, showing the same time period as played out through 6 parallel universes.  BunnyMonkey!

As I'm up to date with Community now, I've started watching Modern Family to fill my comedy quota.  I can't say I was expecting much as the adverts didn't appeal to me at all, but as it happens it's superb.  Definitely one to persevere with if it doesn't click as the characters I thought would annoy me at first turn out to be hilarious.

The new series of The Walking Dead has been great.  It's good to see they've returned to following the story from the comics after series 1 ignored them (after the first episode) and was worse for it.

That was a brilliant, amazing episode of Community. I love how they experiment so much with episode structure and stories. The next weeks episode was... okay... sort of good because you see what the characters are thinking.

Yeah I wasn't as sure about this weeks episode either.  Also bad timing IMO as it was too similar formula to last weeks showing the same sequence from different characters perspective.  A clever idea but not one you should do 2 weeks in a row.

Hmm.  Seems they might be falling back into the trap of series 1.  The writers added a few bits which aren't in the book (the biggest one being the missing child) and IMO they add nothing to the overall story which now seems to drag and lack focus.

This week's wrapup:
How I Met Your Mother Oh my god. Ending with a Pixies track and mindblowing story implications. The series has always astounded me and kept me coming back with its use of what I like to call supercontinuity... today had all that and ended with what is, for me, running for Scene of The Year among the American sitcoms.
Community Solid episode. Absolutely loved the karaoke. Very, /very/ amusing.
The Big Bang Theory Loved how the episode kicked off but fell victim to a generic sitcom cliche. Set the characters up then make 'em fall. Not surprising considering how many sitcoms Chuck Lorre writes; a bit Mills and Boon at times.

Speaking of sitcom cliches, far out does Seinfeld do it almost every episode... but maybe that's because it's the sitcom that made all the cliches? Watching it from start to finish for the first time.

Does that get better?  I watched a few eps from the first series and it was ok without convincing me it was essential viewing so I moved on to other things.  Maybe I should give it another chance.

For me... Season 1 was incredibly compelling, Season 2 was good, then it was dull for a bit and then got better to a consistent level by season 5. If you're not loving it in season 1 though it might not really be your cup of tea? I really love it for the way the episodes make heavy reference to the past of the series, and also forward references. It's compelling to keep watching to see all the loose ends cleared up.

Think I'll give that another try then Smiley

Also worth watching is the new Gervais, Merchant series Life's Too Short.  The first episode was good so it will be interesting to see if they can keep the standard up and it doesn't just become a series of tired jokes about Warwick's stature.

Oh FFS. Sounds like they will only be showing half of this seasons episodes.

Critical fave Community is being benched to make way for the return of 30 Rock on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 8/7c. An NBC source insists the show is just taking a breather and has not been canceled.

Ugh! I really hope it doesn't get cancelled. Better still get six seasons and a movie. I'm so annoyed about this; it's such a great show, and to get cut off early... also annoyed that TG starts on Xmas day...

I bet it's the usual, though. Network starts screwing with the timeslot due to minor dip in ratings, then everyone stops watching the show because nobody knows when it's on because they keep changing the timeslot. Then, they cancel it because the ratings have tanked.

Bizarrely it doesn't get particularly good ratings in the US. It hasn't been picked up by a major network over here,( is it shown in Australia? ) and poor overseas sales wont help.

It's shown in Australia, but unless something's as retardedly popular as Glee, Lost, or 24, our networks do an awful job of showing it. I don't watch television out here, I DL because it's impossible to follow a show properly.
I'm told by a friend that NBC usually gets poor ratings anyway, but I think part of the problem is the decline since season 1 (very suprrising to me). They're basically ditching it out for 30 Rock, and it's going to tank further in the ratings because nobody will know when it's coming back/people will lose interest.
