Yup, surely even a move to another time slot just delays the inevitable.....much like Abed's reaction to finding out that Cougar Town was moving to a midweek slot.

Finished series 1 of Breaking Bad and after a really low key start it suddenly turns great. The time spent developing the characters at the start really pays off later on. I'll definitely be watching the next series.

Also worth watching is the new Gervais, Merchant series Life's Too Short.  The first episode was good so it will be interesting to see if they can keep the standard up and it doesn't just become a series of tired jokes about Warwick's stature.
3 episodes in and it's not working for me.  For a Gervais & Merchant series it seems lazy and generally unfunny aside from the odd moment.

And that's series 2 of Breaking Bad finished.  For the most part it was very good, just let down a bit by the anticlimactic "deus ex machina" ending to explain away the body bags.  I wouldn't care but there was a perfectly good point to end the series on just before that so it was all a bit unnecessary as well.

Straight into series 3 I think  BunnyMonkey!

EDIT:
Saw this series promo on Kataku.  I really hope it gets made.

If Community really is getting axed then it's going out on a high.  I thought the last few episodes have been among the best yet.  Remaking the 80's college promo vid, Abed as Batman and replacing Glee Club.

Also as I've just finished the last episode I must say Frozen Planet has been among the most amazing TV I've ever seen.  Stunning.

Yeah, that's the thing I love about Community; they play with the format and do things in interesting ways, they don't just serve up a generic story every week.

Just realised I hadn't seen the latest Community (and Big Bang Theory). Good episodes always feel longer to me; the 80s promo remake felt like an hour long episode, it was so packed - meanwhile the bully episode of Big Bang Theory? Felt about ten minutes long. Would someone just shoot Chuck Lorre already? Big Bang's gotten really, really poor.

So I watched the Glee episode.

Oh. man. was. that. awesome.

The brilliant Sherlock finally makes a return on Jan 1st. The first series was superb and probably the reason I didn't enjoy the recent Sherlock movies.

That's actually a good choice.  Time wise they've given me more solid entertainment than any other show.

Community Solid episode. Absolutely loved the karaoke. Very, /very/ amusing.
The Big Bang Theory Loved how the episode kicked off but fell victim to a generic sitcom cliche. Set the characters up then make 'em fall. Not surprising considering how many sitcoms Chuck Lorre writes; a bit Mills and Boon at times.
I read a good comparison of those two shows on The Guardian blog (IIRC) recently.  In summary it said The Big Bang Theory was a show about geek stereotypes written to appeal to the masses, whereas Community was a a show written by geeks purely to appeal to other geeks.

I think that sums them up nicely  BunnyMonkey!

Well that's Breaking Bad series 4 complete and as with all the series so far IMO it starts off slow, gradually builds and then the last few episodes go nuts as all the plot lines are concluded.  There were a few bits at the end where I forgot to breathe.  Grin Gus has to be one of the best ever villains on TV.

I see there's only going to be one more series and I think it's fairly possible to predict what the plot lines will be, but I can't wait to see how it concludes.  Brilliant scripting, great acting across the whole cast and some of the best characters ever.  Just greatTV.

So this weeks Sherlock was great.  I like that there's a bit of fantasy in the story lines rather than just the type of gritty police drama that is currently fashionable....even if the boomerang bit was a touch much.
