IIRC the Annie clip is from the one where Pearce joins the band and she's shaking imaginary dice in the canteen.

In other TV news we now have Netflix over here so I'll have to see what TV series offerings they have.

And I flew through the first series of Sons of Anarchy.  I must admit it being based around biker gangs in the US didn't really appeal, but the imdb rating was high so gave it a chance.  Not quite as epic as some of their reviews would have you believe, still well worth a watch though and I get the feeling the real story that future series will revolve around didn't really kick in until the very last episode of season 1.

Next up....Homeland.

If they improve their selection of titles then they'll do really well over here with unlimited viewing at just £6 per month.  Their only real equivalent here is Lovefilm where IIRC it's around £10 per month for just 4 movie or game rentals.

I use Lovefilm just for games and in that respect they are great, but they will have to change fast if they want to compete with Netflix on TV and movies.

Just caught up on last weeks Sherlock and was really disappointed.  Worst episode to date IMO.

The final series of Hustle started poorly too.  I love the show, but it's gone on a couple of series too long and they are totally out of ideas.

I'd say Homeland is now the fastest I've watched an entire series.  Really enjoyable and a great cast.  Some of the acting in the last couple of episodes in particular was great.

At first I thought the ending might be a bit of a cop-out, but it set things up perfectly for the second series.

So homeland is worth the watch? I think I've seen like 2 or 3 episodes and while I also thought that the casting was excellent, I had some doubts about how are they going to stretch that storyline across the season.

Hustle was just... bad. I mean it has come to the point where Leverage is a better show than Hustle. They even had very similar setups for an episode (cash4gold) which only made it more obvious. Hustle has indeed survived way past it's best before mark... I used to like it a lot!

Well the series felt about the right length to me, so I'd say give it another try.  It's what I imagined 24 would have been if they hadn't tried to stretch it to 24 episodes and left out the mid-season story filler of memory loss etc.

Yeah it was very poor.  It was more like some kind of farce than the previous clever plots with mostly unpredictable twists.  My only hope is for a good final episode that also makes it impossible for it to return.

After all the praise it's been receiving recently I've started Boardwalk Empire.  Only 3 episodes in and so far it's fairly enjoyable without being essential viewing.  I can see it being more interesting now a main story thread is emerging and the 1920's setting is superb so I'll stick with it.

The new series of Top Gear seems very low key, almost like the presenters themselves are getting tired of it.

Hardly a surprise really as the BBC have been churning out a new series every six months for years now.  Time to give it a break?

And this weeks entirely scripted filming of a chase sequence was awful.  Tongue

I haven't been watching since Christmas, should catch up... but it's kind of gotten really tired, I think... especially if as you say it's coming across a lot more scripted

Finished the first season of Boardwalk Empire and it was enjoyable enough, although the ending was a slight anti-climax.

So now I've started on Game of Thrones because of the great reviews.  The whole fantasy setting isn't one I normally enjoy so we'll see how it goes.  Episode one was very good so fingers crossed....
