Unity to support all Playstation platforms.  That's pretty huge.

Today, all of us at Unity Technologies are thrilled to announce a partnership with SCEA that will see Unity tools developed for PlayStation platforms! We’ll be making games built on Unity deployable to PS4, PS3, PS Vita, PS Mobile, and SCE’s future cloud services.

Good job it isn't too 2D friendly out of the box or I might be tempted to have a look.  BunnyMonkey!

Shroud Of The Avatar is using Unity.

It's definately one of, if not, the leading dev software around at the moment.

Now that it has Playstation support I'm scared to look at licensing to avoid temptation.  Instead I'm just going to tell myslf it's too expensive.  BunnyMonkey!

Must resist.....2D support and tools added to Unity.

Currently in beta, this first iteration of the 2D tools will be included with the Unity 4.3 update this fall.

Some of the improvements include a dedicated scene view that includes specialized 2D scene manipulation tools, Helgason says. "You’ll also be able to switch between 2D and 3D. A lot of the good games in 2D are actually mixing 3D – particle systems, things that are parallaxing. That stuff will be easier to do."

Other additions that should make importing and manipulating 2D assets include:

a new sprite texture importer type
    automated atlasing
    dedicated 2D renderer component
A new “dope sheet” and visual sprite animation editing functionality for complex animations
    Box2D physics engine integration
Polygon collider generation from sprite textures

Awsome, and about time too.

The only thing missing really was proper 2d support.

It's hard now to think of anything thats superior to Unity.

Yup.  The C# bit is actually the most appealing aspect for me.

Unity now free for Playstation development.

I hope the rumours are false and Microsoft aren't looking to buy Unity.
