the UI was a beast before .
P3D1 was  win api draw objects . that blended with LUA502 to control everything . lol a freaking mess .

P3D2 a the first rebuild that looked good was  using FLTK gui and was looking good but extra issues of bolting on a GUI that preferred to work with OpenGL &  loads of extra code overhead .
to do one task properly would require loads of declarations and at-least 1 callback and input and process lock function.
^^^ freakin mess .

P3D2 b , uses Aaron.s Kune 2d support for Dx9 plugin for NF/NB ( available as standalone for c++ on request )  .
it lets me skip all the win API mess and the overly OOP hoops of FLTK .

dont get me wrong FLTK , is wicked , but IMO not suited to what i need .
:: Kune online docs . I have a dev build so i have acess to some very Alpha command snot appearing , or some marked  to be done are done , but not in the public one yet .
http://www.nuclearglory.com/products/ext/kune/index.html
^^^ wicked handy , lets you work in terms of sprites and such and it auto atlases your sprites for speed and memory saving .
and whole bunch of memory and communications support .

proper simple lists have sped many things up .
"
    Icons_kl_EditGiz =  Kune::NewList(); // re-use CamIco_m
    CamIco_m = Kune::LoadTexture( "rez/icoF/move_01.png" ) ;
    Kune::ListPushBack( Icons_kl_EditGiz , (void*)(CamIco_m) ) ;

    CamIco_m = Kune::LoadTexture( "rez/icoF/rotate_01.png" ) ;
    Kune::ListPushBack( Icons_kl_EditGiz , (void*)(CamIco_m) ) ;

    CamIco_m = Kune::LoadTexture( "rez/icoF/scale_01.png" ) ;
    Kune::ListPushBack( Icons_kl_EditGiz , (void*)(CamIco_m) ) ;
"

lol

That command list is looking fairly comprehensive now.  Nice.

its actualy much bigger but i cant disclose it all .
most all of the not done stuff is actualy done now ,  and for those who inquire he can provide a version that is standalone , that is no NF or NB needed , just dx9 sdk and vs .

I'm still impressed that he's stuck at it.  With so much affordable competition out there now and multi-platform being the current big thing, it must be hard to keep working at it.

hmm , remember he has worked on / fixed many of that ' competition's ' compilers for them (cough,cough TGC )  . LOL
he's a low level code genius .  LOL .

yeah Aaron can make the heart of the code that powers Kune , err something like it as stand alone if you just wanted 2d . I think you have to use VS 2012 though for standalone.
I have been poking him to add OpenGL as a 3d API , heheh.

Sooner or later you are going to write your own engine/language.  It's just about the only thing you haven't done yet lol Smiley

hahahah . to true , to true.

trying to get Aaron to make a 3d engine now . IE  take Kune's 2d and bolt on a likewise well thought out 3d engine . LOL
he just might do it . I know he has rebuilt compilers and such form some commercial ones  so why not work on his own rite .
then he is in full control and not rev share or royalties deals.

any how  ans this year see me cash stripped i'm doing some things to keep ejectedcore.com mine.  one of teh users on NG forums  is a web builder by trade and has offered to park me on his personal  space and  lend me a chunk of space till i can get proper account setup .

the bonus is he knocked this up in a few min by digging through my old mess. It's word press so I should be able to look after it .
but it seems well suited for P3D and my EC needs .

Nice. Smiley  Yeah Wordpress is dead easy to use.  Simply drop a theme in like yours and easily add your own content.

well it paid a bit , and not too soon as i had/have bills due . LOL
looking into more research related stuff , that is close to games stuff as it is for assessing cognitive ability ?? i forget the official term .

simply put i make visual LIB's and demos that the researcher then takes and build actual experiments with .
I never thought of 'games' coding as something that can actually help.
due to the NDA , it will need permission to write about what he has me do , as it is his and his team's bread and butter .
I just take the sting out of the visual side of stuff . My old-school games code knowledge pays off vs new fangled dev in a box . LOL

:: oh and :
i have ditched AEF forums and going with new SMF.
http://forums.ejectedcore.com/index.php

i need to hack the CSS to make colors match what I need , but it works .  AEF was an experiment in frustration .
I am liking word press.

SMF, Wordpress and CSS is certainly the way to go.  They are all really nice to use and very customisable.

Man that sucks.  You had no choice, but it's a shame you can't continue to work on this just now.
