"Oh, that damned illusion again... /keeps driving/... OH SHI-..."
lol.  I didn't even think of that aspect of it.  That's even worse than a driver swerving to avoid a child that isn't really there!

So the Pope is visiting the UK at the cost of £12m to us tax payers.  Bargain!

Anyway one of his aides wont be staying...

Quote
A senior Papal adviser has pulled out of the Pope's UK visit after saying arriving at Heathrow airport was like landing in a "Third World" country.

The UK a "Third World" country?  Surely not?  It's ok though as the Vatican have put the record straight...

Quote
The Vatican said the 77-year-old cardinal had not intended "any kind of slight", and was referring to the UK's multicultural society.

Ah so it's just the immigrants he doesn't like. Bloody hell Tongue

that's just goes from bad to worse.

...then again, from my experience Heathrow airport IS a third world country.  Tongue

It's packed full of people in a hot, humid environment where people spit on the stuffy carpet floor that stinks a lot. I guess the only difference is that most people there are annoyed and tense and not as welcoming as in some of the third world countries that come to my mind right now...

I don't think international airports by their very nature are the bast places to form an opinion though Smiley  And I was more interested in the Vatican comment about the "UK's multicultural society" which is a general comment about the UK in general.

Shouldn't be too difficult to spot Smiley

WANTED:

Police have admitted having technical issues after releasing an e-fit of a burglary suspect which looks like a man wearing a lettuce.

More worryingly this is an efit that supposedly doesn't have technical issues  Tongue

the mustache in particular kills me, it looks like duct tape was involved with the process of making it.

ah!
you got me, fog! Cheesy
yes, I was the robber all along!

seriously though, I couldn't help but think "what a great profile picture for anything this would make!"
great for: "yes, I'm that guy on the other end of the internet!"

unfortunately, it gets less fun the more it is shrunk, appearently (it seems more difficult to tell that it isnt a real picture) (.....can someone blow it up to monitor size and see if the opposite logic applies!?)
still, it'll do.

I didn't realise World War I officially ended last weekend.

The First World War will officially end on Sunday when Germany pays off the last of the enormous debt which was set by the Allies 92 years ago.

And no doubt they still have to pay for WWII which was in no small part caused by the repayments for WWI.  Policy makers FTW.
