Do you use a form editor to create your gui layouts or do you place it all by hand ?

That GUI library that Prime is using (FLTD) has it's own Editor.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FLUID

It outputs the necessary source code in C++ which I'm not sure you could use, but reading that Wiki link it also outputs a .fl file which it looks like you could edit to just extract the info you need....or build your own custom loader for Blitz I guess.

EDIT:  Just read the other thread so maybe you can use the C++ code it outputs.  Nice.

Ahh ok.

I didn't know it came with it's own editor.

Thanks for that Fog.

Blitz has several form editors.  One of them looks quite decent, and does what the FLTD one does, but it's a purchase only.

About £30 i think.  I didn't want to spend that much.

So, i've been designing mine by hand with trial and error.   Tongue

That looks like a really nice system.

Must be a big time saver.

ok i just sorted a bug specific to W7  and some arrays / init values.
i hade a few segments used un init , and was throwing a wrench in teh works. (possibly the cause of XP memory leak )

any how here you can see the 3rd hidden section now.
well 1/2 of it .. it was always there before but i had it hidden so as not to confuse you .
it will come online very soon . and it adds a 2nd , and ins oem cases 3rd perlin object (virtual texture ) for mixing with .. and you will have one per material slot . (+ one for teh main height map generator )
this is to let you have more control over sub details and validations.
ie you can put noise in your noise's noise...

note we are at v0.2.9  now .

i just put 3 quick brabs side by side .   Wink

Those GUI's look real pro now. Great work mate.

Where would you say you are project wise now then?  This looks close to completion or do you have other things planned?

cheers .. i'm actulay cutting redundants stuff now ..  should be no more adding , just warpping up .
hoping to call it done very soon .

I learned a whole whack of stuff that will carry into P3D , as this was sort the point .. as GUI / systems test bed .
the frills like a decimator .. and the like can be bolted on .

so very low priority ..  i do have to solve teh undo systems in P3D2 and get teh action server fully working .
once i get frosting working to where P3D1 left off ,, i will make a game ..
nuff tool building .. LOL

+ i need to learn more about shaders . specificaly nvidia script headed shaders.

I agree with Fog.

Those Gui windows do look really great.

Nicely laid out and easy to read.

I really like those colors.   Smiley

but why is this relevent .. here ?

because i spent a day playn' with the games on it instead of coding .. .LOL

i did not know droid supported openGL untill yesterday .. havingplayed a game i'm sure was made usining unity ..
some 3d race games ... and such .. thisis crazy for a small hand held ...  and oh snap what a way to dicover your phones accelerometer features than in a game..  and blowin hours playing angry birds space .. LOL ( compleet with that nasa guys video from ISS  ! ).
I linked it to my wi fi .. and  rit now im linking it to my desktop witha remote acess client or such via my google cloud thingy .. LOL

blows myfreakin mind ..

litteraly shook my idea about hand held platform ..  i though my PSP rocked . LOL  vita must be amazing if up against when these small android phones can do ..

Welcome to the smart phone revolution.  Where have you been for the last few years Wink

And yeah, some of the remote apps are cool.  I can remote desktop onto my PC's from anywhere and queue up downloads on my NAS while out and about.  It's ace.

Seriously though, having had an iPhone since launch I'm still amazed at what you can do on such a small device...and gaming wise, if you stick to what they are good at, then they are genuine games machines.

Are you an OpenGL man then Prime?  As it seems to be supported by everything it's the way to go for easy multi-platform development whether you use it with C++ of via another SDK based on OpenGL it (AGK, Monkey etc).

a long term goal witll be to take what i have lerned in 3D d3d , and merge to opengl .
I may familliar with what can be done in openGL , and i am now ever more driven to move to platform independant coding .

ie an apps base code is non api specific as possible, then translates a api layer for final user experiance .

core.module , implimantaion.module , api.module <=> final app/exe

but that is a few years off for me.  i will prolly just sink into Ember for most of what i want to do off of PC/d3dworld .  nf still rules that for me .
yet i did just dl unity .. hehe
