Ah yes.  Lovely lovely Rez.  You really have to see it in motion and truly experience it to fully appreciate it.  Smiley

Not convinced by Grim Fandango in the same way as I'm not by Psychonaughts.  Can't wait to play Okami though as it sounds like the gameplay might be a match for the visuals.

A couple more old favourites then....

Darwinia

Spheres of Chaos

Right enough of the oldies.....time to find some new releases that haven't gone down the uninspired photo realistic route.

Here was one of my faves - simple but awesome!

I didn't know what to write here, so I thought I might fill up the space uselessly, to give you something to read.  I know this is a blatant waste of bits and bytes, but if you would be so kind, don't hate me for it.  I only sit here and type because I am bored.  And you are too, my friendly reader.

Oh yes I like a bit of Warning Forever.  Add all of Kenta Cho's stuff at ABA Games to gfx we like too.

EDIT:
Love Drivey or more specifically the way the gfx work too.  It doesn't draw everything but indicates that it's there and your brain fills in the gaps.....or something  Tongue

Not convinced you've given me a good reason yet. Smiley Care to explain?

Oh yes, Defcon.

Looks amazing, still concerns about the gameplay though.

And Loco Roco looks even better in motion.  The tilting landscape mechanic might mean the gameplay is equally as nice.  Funny but you rarely see terrible games with innovative graphical styles......maybe the gfx are an outward sign of the care and attention given to the gameplay? Smiley

Yeah it's nothing technical, purely a personal opinion.  The "styles" don't excite me.  Sure they look a bit different but the character design, particularly in Psychonaughts, just doesn't appeal.

I know I said no more old games but no thread like this would be complete without GW2....for obvious reasons Smiley

I dunno, I thought Eets looked nice, but that was before playing it. It turned out to look pretty much like any basic game. Low resolution on a 19" display and not so smooth animation didn't help either. The levels on the demo didn't look as good as in that screenie either. I didn't end up playing the game very much, but not because of the graphics... the gameplay just felt pretty limited. It was like the incredible machine, but with lot less options in everything.

Not gonna argue on the gameplay front....I wasn't too taken by it either.  in fact there are a couple of games on here I didn't really like but this is all about the graphics Smiley

Graphically though, whatever resulution, I thought it had character, style and a sense of humour.  I liked it.

longest gap between original post and edit ever....fixed quotes  Tongue
