Whoa! Way to make it look 80s and still use 3D! Makes me wonder if anything ever came of Drivey?

AFAIK Drivey was only ever an animation, not a game.  Surprised nobody copied it mind.

GW3  Smiley

Gameplay footage.

Looks very much like Super Stardust which I always preferred to the previous GW games.  It's going to be damn hard to make traditional GW style gameplay work well on all those different shapes so I imagine structurally it's similar to SS too and uses scripted waves as opposed to random stuff.

Did you ever play Super Stardust JDog?  You'd love that, it's fantastic.

Something slightly different now.  This is gif is great for showing why the lighting in Driveclub looks so amazingly realistic.  Lovely volumetric clouds Smiley

Really interesting piece here about Voxel Cone Tracing tech in The Tomorrow Children.

Must admit I don't understand a lot of it, but the results though are undeniably incredible. The lighting is unreal and the materials are the most realistic looking I've seen.

Wow...

All done i with freely deform-able geometry in realtime at 1080 on aPS4.  There are a couple of lengthy PDFs in the link below which some on here will understand better than me. Smiley

Quote from: Dylan Cuthbert
The game has freely deform-able geometry which is why right at the start we decided we couldn't go with the more standard graphics pipelines that need a lot of pre-baked information. However, we *did* want the very nice lighting that those pre-baked systems can give (like the lighting you are seeing in the Silicon Studios demo released this week).

When you guys see this game actually *running* in 1080p on your tvs with the lighting all simply *working* you are going to love it; dig into a mountain and the light spills around correctly, and the shadowing from things cast in all directions naturally and realistically. It /almost/ looks like a Pixar movie at times and is the closest to that "rendered" ideal I've seen so far in an actual game (not a tech demo). Although I do have high hopes for Uncharted on the PS4!

I like the effect in Noct.  Greyscale effect looks cool and it can also improve the graphical realism in a strange less-is-more kind of way.

Nidhogg is amazing. I love its super simplistic graphical style and the way the little touches like grass on the Wilds map really alter gameplay.

Shame it's $15 though. I miiiight still buy it at that price.

Ooh nice.  Even if I don't use the actual gfx I often browse sites like that when seeking inspiration.

IconFinder is useful if ever you need any nice icons or GUI stuff too.

And LogoPond is useful for logo inspiration....which I'm crap at.  BunnyMonkey!
