Sounds good Fog. 3D would really only work with proper depth, so if you've not got a parralax background, it'd be less noticeable etc.
Well if you remember my old screenies then my game objects have a drop-shadow effect on them so naturally lend themselves to having a 3D effect applied making them stand out from the background.  It doesn't quite work like that though so I wonder if it's simply because there's too much moving around on screen. Who knows.  Tongue

Progress is progress, and you're making alot of it Smiley
I'm getting a reasonable amount done,  but it's those little end of project tasks that always take a lot longer than you think while seemingly adding little to the game (where the gameplay has effectively been finished for a while now)

Anyway thanks for the encouragement Smiley

You've been working on this for so long now, aren't you concerned it will look dated when it's released?

At the speed I'm working I could have called it 2012 instead of 1982 and it would still be retro when I finally finish it.  Tongue

Been doing some overtime at work over the last 2 weeks so no dev progress to report.

Back to normal this weekend though so hopefully I can get something done.  BunnyMonkey!

Can't believe I haven't updated this for almost 2 weeks  Tongue

Little progress to report TBH.  The deadline for my "real work" job passes today so I'm hoping that means no more of the overtime for a while and I wont be too knackered to code safely any more (ie. without making shit loads of errors  Tongue )

I need to get this finished so I can start on something new.  I'll need something to do over the fast approaching long, dark winter nights.  Smiley

In the meantime retro themed mini project 1982 is progressing rapidly and should have it's first playtesting session later this week.
Ah how time flies... my second electric scooter is still "in progress" and it's been two years...

It feels like even longer to me TBH.

Although I have done a reasonable amount of informal playtesting with mates at home....just not with you guys on here as I realised it wasn't fair to keep messing you about by making promises and never sticking to them.  Tongue

Just the way things are right now.  Work and my health come before development....however frustrating I find that Smiley

Yeah, I know what you mean. I have to squeeze in any thing I'm working on at the bottom of a long list of priorities Sad

Cheers guys Smiley

If it wasn't for the fact I would have to jump through a few hoops to satisfy XBIG Peer Review I'd probably just release what I have now.  One of the advantages of just doing PC development is you can release any old crap  Grin

The sooner I get some PC specific options added to my game engine the better.
