the amount of which you get per view is very very little. In some cases, none. But it does depend on your traffic volume and things like view-to-click and click-to-buy ratios. Meaning that a page that generates gazillion ad views but no clicks is going to get less money per view than a site that generates slightly less views but more clicks.
Couldn't you run some kind of scam with a program that justs keeps refreshing pages and clicking on links?  Even if it only counts unique IP's I'm sure there's a way around that.

There is in fact quite a large business for faking just this thing. I believe that one of the main ones I heard about was where you would hire an outside firm to do the work for a portion of the profits. From the article I remember reading, it was a one-man team and he was quoted as having over six digits in profits every year.

I'd imagine though that it would also be a quick way to get yourself thrown in jail.

that's why the system doesn't rely on views alone. Some systems go as far as to only count the clicks that result in purchases.

Oh and if you are suspected of cheating your ad account is gone in an instant. along with all the money you've "gathered" so far. (Most systems only pay you after you've reached a certain sum). If you think you are helping by clicking an ad on page you want to support make sure you don't click it too many times.

I'm sure someone can find a way to cheat here too, but it cheaters can be very easy to spot as most of them tend to be too greedy. One idea would be to use all that spyware to generate clicks from all those infected computers.

Probably wont be fast enough yet but you could "display" a page of ads between every proper page when someone visits your site.  So every time they click on a link it "displays" the ad page and then shows the proper page.  Obviously by "display" I mean it doesn't actually show the ads buts retrieves the data from Google somehow so they think it's bee displayed.  If this was done automatically for every visitor it would generate a lot of ad views all with different IP's

I haven't really though this through lol Smiley  And I'm obviously not advocating anyone try and fiddle Google Ads.....just curious how secure the system is and how much return the various companies advertising get for their money.
