Holy Shit! That's enough to make me finally by a 360. Now if only I could buy one that wouldn't give me a red ring of death and need to be returned.

AFAIK the new machines have extra measures in place to stop them overheating but not the new chips that run cooler and should therefore be more reliable.

It is a serious pain in the arse that the 360's aren't more reliable.  I'm on my second one and I've little confidence that wont break at some point either.

But, if I'm really honest, I'd buy another one tomorrow.  I could say Microsoft don't deserve my money etc etc and not buy one but I'd be the only one really losing out there.   Games on the 360 are far superior to anything I have played on it's rivals to date and as a gamer I'd be a fool to miss out on that. So I've been playing a little bit of Stranglehold and it's exactly what I expected after playing the demo.  The shallowest of games, with little strategy and a paper thin plot.....but big fun.

It's also surprisingly tricky in places, not really helped by a little bit of the level design where some areas have very narrow "corridors" which just doesn't work well in 3rd person games.  You're often getting shot by something you can't see as your character is out in the open but the cameras view of the enemy is obscured by a wall.  Anyway a minor inconvenience, and unavoidable in a game like this and easy to overlook when it's this fun.

You guys better not be taking the piss  Grin

Anyway I'm stuck now on a level where you have to blow up some boats and I can't even blame the camera for my struggles here.  So far I've resisted the temptation to drop the difficulty level down but it's getting mighty frustrating.

Got my Halo 3  Kang-a-roo!

I've only ever played Halo 1 on a PC before and didn't think it was all that great so lets see if this is any good.

So then Halo 3.  Hmm.  So far I've only played solo (co-op will be so much better) and it's been enjoyable.  In fact it's been very very enjoyable......so why do I still feel a touch dissapointed?  It's not because I bought into all the hype as I've mostyly avoided it and didn't have huge expectations anyway after my previously mentioned Halo 1 experiences.

Nope, I can't put my finger on it.  It's fun but there's just something missing.  Undecided

Much better in co-op as expected.  A downscaled screenie for your pleasure.

Proof that co-op doesn't necessarily make things easier.  Mate in the foreground, me in the background....both blaming each other for the double death dealing explosion  BunnyMonkey!

Taking photos in Halo3 is almost as much fun as the game itself.  (well not quite but my co-op buddy is away for a couple of days and I don't want to progress the story any more until he returns so am finding other ways to entertain myself Smiley )

A couple more shots then.....with a recuring theme of me dieing.  I do that a lot  Grin

OK so I got both Speedball 2 and Every Extend Extra Extreme.  Speedball is of course great but E4 is truly fantastic.

It looks and sounds just superb and the gameplay has been tweaked and improved.  The number of enemies has increased considerably over previous versions but a shield makes it much more forgiving to play.  This means there is much less chance to die so you can concentrate on maximising your chains which, while some people wont like it, has always been the appeal for me.

And a whole bunch of game modes mean you can have a 5 minute blast in Time Limited Mode or play the Time Unlimited Mode when you just want to chill.  When you get half decent at Unlimited mode your games can effectively last forever but that's kind of the point (while several reviews have so far completely missed  Tongue )  I ended up dieing on purpose after well over an hours play last night with a highscore of just over 26 trillion!  The scores are ridiculous  Grin

It's obscure, especially if you've never seen an Every Extend game before, but highly recommended.  My new favourite XBLA game.  Kang-a-roo!
