| 12th July 2008 | Well I haven't updated in a long time so what exactly is going on in The Zoo?
Well firstly plans have been disrupted due to a lengthy and ongoing illness, but from a development point of view (the important stuff) I have decided to make the move to XNA so we can develop for PC and the XBox360.
So far it has been mostly painless and I am finally seeing some results, so if you want to find out a little about XNA, follow the development diary of our current project and find out what a Bunnymonkey is then drop into The Binary Zoo Bog. |

| 3rd Sept 2007 | Another quick update this time to mono.
I have made a number of minor changes but the only one anyone will really be interested is the addition of joypad support. Yay. mono is now officially "just another twin stick shooter" :)
Also included is a joypad configuration application so if you initially have problems select "configure joypad" from the main menu and follow the simple on screen instructions. |

| 30th June 2007 | Finally echoes version 1.02 is finished and ready for download.
There have been a whole host of fixes, tweaks and improvements made, most notably an action replay facility and the addition of the un-lockable Crack bonus game.
See the echoes download page for full details of all changes. |

| 27th July 2006 | echoes...
So far all testing of our new game "echoes..." has been done in-house so, in an effort to kill any remaining issues, we are now looking for a small number of playtesters.
Details on our forum.

| 19th July 2006 | Long time no news.
For both coding related and personal reasons development had stopped for a short while but we are now back up to speed.
Coding on our latest game is finished apart from some minor changes suggested during play-testing. The all new music and sound fx are in and the majority of the graphics are complete.
As mentioned previously this is essentially a demo that was written entirely in our own scripting system but we think it holds up well as a game in its own right........you should find out very soon. |

| 25th Feb 2006 | Oh yes, 2 news posts in the same year....I'm on a roll!
The first full demo from our almost complete 2D shmup scripting system will be sent out to the other team members in the next couple of days. It has been a lot of work but hopefully the results will be worth it as development times should be slashed (which shouldn't be difficult). At least then I can look forward to making another news post without having to say "still working on mono" yet again!
Also a few small but significant pieces of news.
SiN has all but completed our very first mobile game, an enhanced version of DUOtris. Lets just say development on other things has suffered recently due to some *cough* essential playtesting *cough*. More news soon.
Also our interview with Planet Freeplay is now up. Our thanks to Steve.
Finally our forum is now open so feel free to drop by and give us some feedback.....or just spam the off-topic area like we do. |

| 6th Jan 2006 | Good news....we are still alive. Which is more than can be said for the website at times recently due to the high volume of traffic. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Progress? Well we are now back on the "proper" version of mono full-time (or as full-time as we can be when we all work as well)
I'm currently working on the new enemy routines which are pretty much the final routines before we start sticking everything together.
Then it's just a case of implementing the new game styles, designing a load of levels, creating a stack of new media and overhauling the presentation.
Until then the new website to replace this temporary one will have to wait. (does it still qualify as temporary after 2 years?)
Finally, if the recent gaps between news updates are anything to go by I'd best take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2007! |
